Oslo Science Park, Inven2, the University of Oslo and Conventor, develop and host one of Norway’s largest science and technology events – the Cutting Edge festival.

At the Cutting Edge Festival we present the latest breakthroughs in science, the most promising innovations, and the most exciting startup companies to come out of the Norwegian research communities.

It is a vibrant festival where Norway’s brightest students, researchers, entrepreneurs and investors, meet and interact with people from industry, government and media. Where a young innovator with a fresh prototype, can find a financial partner or discuss new ideas with a prime minister.

The big perspective – the power of demonstration
The world is changing fast, the global challenges are grave and many; climate change, health challenges, water scarcity, food and energy security, over population, air pollution and many more. There are no hiding anymore – we need to meet these challenges with new solutions. We need to change how we operate the world.

The main objective of the Cutting Edge Festival is to demonstrate how research, science, innovation and technology can shape our future society, businesses and industries, and make our civilisation sustainable.

Our festival program always presents solid and tangible projects; new innovation built on science and research, that can be useful and valuable for many, emerging start-up companies with ambition to make a dent in the universe, and solutions developed and implemented by established industry players.

Inspiration and unexpected partnerships
Although we are a small country, with a small home market and the Norwegian contribution to the world’s total research effort is under one percent, our ambition is to show more of the world-leading Norwegian research communities that we have. We believe we can contribute to global development and breakthroughs in the fields where we have our strengths.

We want to be able to work with the best and bring home and utilize groundbreaking research results from world leading communities in other countries. To give context to the great work we do in Norway, we invite handpicked international guest speakers and technology leaders, to present and showcase important and trending developments in science and technology from other parts of the world.

The Dutch Wavemakers will also be at the Cutting Edge Festival. More information soon available.
