Wetskills-South Korea 2019

August 26 – September 6

Behold! The second edition of Wetskills South-Korea!
Because of the succes of a memorable first (Olympic) edition of a Wetskills Water Challenge in South-Korea in February last year (Read here), we are thrilled to announce the upcoming second edition of Wetskills South-Korea this year! As from today, we are welcoming case owners as well as participants to apply for a spot in this Wetskills South-Korea 2019 event.

The programme will start on 25 August 2019 in Seoul and the great finale with pitches will be held on 6 September, during the Korean International Waterweek (KIWW) 2019 in Daegu. The two week programme is under construction as we speak: get ready to be part of this life changing experience including high level network events, brainstorms with South Korean waterexperts and of course our ambassador Somi Douma!

The first application round is now open and it’s deadline will be on 1 May 2019. Don’t miss out on this rare opportunity and reserve your spot by using the application form online. Be sure to check out the past event page of Wetskills South-Korea 2018 for an impression of South-Korea 2018, by using this link.

Participation fees

  • Local participants: travel, local transport, daily costs and a participation fee of 150 euros.
  • International participants and local participants needing accommodation in Seoul: travel, local transport, daily costs and a participation fee of € 395,- (excl. 21% VAT).

The programme fee includes: accommodation in Daegu (3-4 nights), field trips, social activities, workshops, working locations, supervision, some of the meals and the Finals & Awarding ceremony, entrance to Korea International Water Week and the Gala dinner. (The participant fee excludes the international and local travel (plain, train, bus, etc.) and all other daily costs not included in the program fee.)

Note: The Wetskills organisation is striving to find possibilities to keep the costs to the participants at a minimum. During past editions participants often successfully arranged financial compensation for their Wetskills participation from their university or employer. We therefore strongly encourage applicants to inquire about funding opportunities to compensate the costs (university mobility funds, travel allowance etc.).
